So my fan died a few weeks ago i purchased a new one and replaced it, before putting the cover on i plugged it in and ran the ps4 for about an hour to keep an eye on the fan. I then unplugged the ps4 and installed the cover and the got zero response from the system untill i wiggled the power cord and its worked ever since but a few days ago i tried to put a disc in and it wouldnt take it, i pressed the eject button and heard no sound. Ive checked all connections and tried to manually insert a disc with the screw reset the ps4, but that did nothing. I did however notice if the disc is pushed in most of the way it’ll eject on reset, so the drive has power. It wont read, accept or make any beeps, any suggestions?

Most likely the large ribbon cable that goes from the motherboard to the drive board on the disc drive is bad. There’s a good chance that the little ears on each side of the ends were torn off or broken when you removed it. This is a very common problem. The other thing that it may be is the small metal tab that’s on the bottom case. If that small metal piece does not make contact with the copper pad on the disc drive board then you won’t be able to eject a disc. Since it won’t take a disc in that means that there is a problem somewhere else too but you may want to check that metal tab as well. I hope this helps.
