Chosen Solution

Greetings, I am installing a new front panel screen assembly onto this model of iPad (5-LTE) for a friend. I purchased the iFixit kit with the new screen supplied (part no. 128000-8) with various protective pieces of film on the glass. Colored tabs (red, blue, light blue) are provided for ease of removal. Not in the box is any suggested order for removing the protective films. Obviously, at least one, if not two, need to be removed before I can re-attach the Home button assembly. Would anyone who has done this using an iFixit purchase have any sage advice for me? Many thanks, DLC

You want to remove the protective film at the very last moment, literally just before sealing up the device, otherwise you will probably have fingerprints and other smudges on the glass surface. In order to put the Home Button flex in place, you can just lift up the bottom edge of the protective film, apply the flex and then put the film back in place. Check out this answer (After doing my repairs (battery and screen) I have problems) I posted earlier for other general best practices on the iPad Air/5 re-assembly.
