Chosen Solution

I have an 80gb CECHE model PS3. The fan isn’t spinning up, and it’s overheating in 15 minutes or so from being turned on. I know the fan itself works because it will spin up for the “fan test.” Is this a sign that my solder is already cracked, or will changing the thermal paste fix the problem? Or is it something else entirely? Thanks!

Cleaning out the dust doesn’t always solve the problem. Bearings in fans go out all the time or if you live in a home with cigarette smoke the nicotine and tar can jam it up. You can pick up a new fan for just a few bucks and replace it.

My ps3 fan is not spinning when it is turned on is it the fan its self or something else
