I am trying to obtain a service manual/circuit diagram for our “elderly” combination Microwave/Oven. It is an NE-972 and we have used this particular model for over 40 years, I think this is the third one which we have owned and have found them to be an excellent product.Unfortunately the current one has developed an OVEN fault. The microwave still works well without any problems. We still use it for that purpose regularly. When the oven temperature has been set and the start button pressed, the power relay for the heating element pulls in for a fraction of a second and then drops out. An error code of FFFF is then displayed and nothing further happens until stop is pressed.I have removed & checked the thermal cut-out which is OK and checked the fuses which are also OK.  I also checked the preset which trims the oven temperature on the control board but that seems OK.As I can’t find a circuit diagram or service manual for this model I don’t know what the FFFF error code indicates. I know that a Service Manual was produced as I have seen a copy of it for sale on Ebay but I was too late to buy it. Panasonic will not provide one and local Panasonic affiliated engineers WILL NOT HELP. I note that if I set the oven temperature at 40 deg and start the oven, sometimes the pre-heat starts but after a bit the FFFF code comes back up.  Can any of your engineers help with some advice. I am part of the “repair rather than replace” brigade and would like to get it working again. It would be a pity to have to bin it. David (ex BBC electronics engineer.)

Hi @glengardener , Here’s the service manual for the microwave. See p.32 for FF FF error code troubleshooting. The schematic for your model is on p.9
