Hello, I have just built a new PC over weekend, however when I press the power button the PC boots for a split seconds then shuts down does this for around 30 seconds to a minute then boots up as normal. If i reboot then depending if it doesn’t shut down fully i am OK. originally i wasn’t getting any Display when first built and I noticed one of the Pins were bent and managed to straiten it out with a needle do you think this is still an issue? or could it be my CPU. If i put 1 RAM in its eventually boots, if i stick 2 in it just recycles everytime. I have the following: Asus Z270E - Gaming MOBO Corsair Vengance 16GB RAM Core i7-7700K 4.20GHz Nvidia 1050TI Graphics Card

You say it will boot with one stick not both . Is the board duel channel and are you putting the sticks in the right slots? Most Asus boards are duel channel and as such you need to put the sticks in the first and third slot or the second and forth to run two sticks .If its running ddr 3 however if its running ddr4 it could be different . Check with the asus site or with the manual that came with the motherboard .If you have them in the right slots and get no joy then try using each sticks in the first slot in turn and see if both sticks work . You may have got one bad stick . wouldn’t be the first time.

Hi David, When a computer boots it goes through POST (Power On Self Test) If the computer fails POST it will emit a pattern of beeps. You may need to connect the little speaker to the motherboard to hear them. Refer to the manual that came with the motherboard to decipher the beeps. If you do not have the manual you can always google the model number to find the manual. It sounds like you have a bad stick of ram. Thank You, Dane K. Johnson

haha, i have had the same issue a few times about a year ago and once again yesterday. originally thought my gpus were dying out (they are). had a feeling it wasnt the cause though..did all the solutions i could find…nothing worked. unplugged psu from mobo first time and reconnected…booted up. next time i just pushed on it. booted. yesterday, did solutions to be sure, then pushed on psu connector to mobo…booted up. weird…because i know there isnt a short. really dont know. worth a shot haha.
