Hi, Have got a iPhone 8 , people can’t hear me on any phone calls, FaceTime, etc . Have tried using voice memos to record and doesn’t pick up any sound. When I record a video with the back main camera it does record sound. And sound plays ok . Is this a speaker issue? And which one would need changing? Thanks
This sounds most likely like a bottom microphone problem. As was already noted, I would try and make certain there’s no debris stuck in the bottom grills. Although it was mentioned to use compressed air, I would recommend using something like Blu tack, or even tape to pull stuff out since that’s generally more effective than trying to blow it inward. If it looks clear, it may be the microphone itself is not working properly in which case you’d be looking at replacing the lightning dock assembly. iPhone 8 Lightning Connector Assembly
Hello, 2 questions: Are you using headphones? And if you are have you tried switching them out?Have you tried blowing out (GENTLY) the speakers with some air? To remove the dirt in the microphone: Open some compressed airBlow it at the grill on the topBlow into the bottom left microphoneBlow into the mic at back on the right of the cameraMost of the dirt should be gone so people should hear you Another possibility is in your microphone privacy settings: To turn on your iPhone’s microphone, go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone > make sure the app you’re using for calls if toggled on. Another possibility (very rarely) is your network settings try this to reset your network settings: From the home screen, tap SettingsScroll down to, then tap GeneralScroll down to, then tap ResetTap Reset Network SettingsTap Reset Network Settings to confirm You can also try to force reboot your iPhone and that may help your situation: How to force iPhone 8 to reboot Lastly you may need to replace your speaker if all else fails: iPhone 8 Troubleshooting iPhone 8 Earpiece Speaker Replacement Good luck!
