Chosen Solution
Hello guys, i have a performance issue with my ThinkPad E560. When i start a game, my laptop becomes laggy after minutes and the only solution is to unplug and replug the charger but the problem reappear again after minutes. What the problem be? and is there a homemade solution? And thanks. Update (06/10/2020) Hi, I’m using windows 10, 8GO RAM, yeah when playing game (because it requires charger when playing), All my drivers are up to date and for the startup i have only disabled some process like adobe and chrome update…
The ThinkPad line is not meant for gaming - they are productivity business laptops. You bought the wrong machine for gaming! Changing the thermal paste and cleaning the CPU fan/heatsink out will help, but don’t expect it to make a major difference. The HMM can be found here. Sadly, the motherboard needs to come out to access the heatsink :-(. Yes they will handle most older titles fine, but they have to run well on the IGP or business graphics decently. Having a ULV processor also doesn’t help the situation. That said, it can handle very old titles okay. I’ve had GTA:VC run fine on HD 4600 graphics paired with a i7 4810MQ, but that’s because of how old the game is. Your machine is no different with HD 520 graphics. In the case of how yours is failing, it sounds like a throttling and power delivery issue, especially if it’s fine on a appropriate game and then gets worse as you run it. Most ULV laptops are not equipped with the appropriate cooling for gaming, and tend to throttle back sooner then something with a full power processor installed.
