Hi, I accidentally destroyed my headphone jack by sending in phantom power… There was no smoke or anything but since then, only noise is coming out of the output. I have some electronic/soldering skills but I imagine parts are very small and I don’t really know which parts got damaged. Any experience with this kind of damage or is a logic board swap the only solution for me?
Easier work around: get a USB dongle. USB audio will work when analog wont (they’re separate). Soldering logic board components is not a DIY project.

I have kind of the same Problem with my iPhone 4. I also send some power into the headphone jack and now i dont get any sound out of it. My Questions is now, if it will work to replace only the jack (with this one for example: [linked product missing or disabled: IF182-016-1]) or if something different broke, so i have to replace other parts too. Thanks for any reply Dilton EDIT: opened a new topic with more precise information here: Repair of headphone jack after sending phantom power in possible?
