I have a pretty old philips 49pus7272/12. One day, the picture just went dark (still have sound and ambient light). When I shine a flashlight at it from an angle, I can make out shapes, so it seems to be an issue with the backlight. How would I go about fixing or replacing it? I opened up the back cover and there seems to be 4 panels, but I have no idea which is which or what to check.

Hi @allark , As @salmonjapan said you can replace the individual LEDs if you have the skills and equipment to do so. However, nowadays the replacement strips are quite cheap so you would be better off buying them. They usually sell in pairs so you can be assured that the light intensity will be the same across the strip. Plus, it saves you glueing back the diffuser lens.

What about the driver, have you thought about this could be broken (also)? My TV has the same issue, while on I saw the backlight disappearing in one corner.
