recently, an iPhone 5 was passed to me from my older cousin. It worked fine up until yesterday the phone died at around 50% and it has been charging ever since but won’t turn back on. I’ve tried the home & lock button technique but nothing worked. Any thoughts??

I’ll also add that if the lightning cable does not plug in fully into the charging port leaving a visible gap between the plug and the housing then it is a good indicator that the charging port may have some debris stuck in there. If this is the case use a toothpick or something equivalent to remove it so that the charging cable can have full contact with the charging port pins. This is a common cause due to it obstructing the connection from the charging port pins and the charging cable.

How old is the phone, it may be time for a new battery
