Hi I have a new BLU Vivo 5R and I can’t get the ringtone to sound, I have tried downloaded and preloaded tones and checked all the silet buttons I can find. Anyone know what I can do? Thanks
Hi @ludy , Do you hear the ringtone when you go into settings and change the ringtone and the phone provides a brief audio sample of what it sounds like? Alternatively, when playing music from the phone, can you hear it coming from the loudspeaker in the phone or if on a call can you hear the other person when using the phone in “loudspeaker” (or hands free) mode? If not then there is a problem with the phone’s loudspeaker. This speaker is the same one that is used for the ringtone and notification sounds. If you can hear music or voice from the loudspeaker, try starting the phone in safe mode and check if the ringtone/text notification tone etc work OK. If it does then a downloaded app is the cause of the problem. The trick is to find out which one is the culprit. You’ll need to uninstall each downloaded app, one by one, and test the phone in normal mode, between each uninstall to check if it works OK. When it does the last downloaded app that was uninstalled was the cause of the problem.
Out of curiosity, when you make a call, does the speakerphone function work? Some phones use the same speaker for speakerphone and ringtone sounds. If both do not work, then you have an issue with the speaker itself or the logic board. Try the speaker phone first and then if it still doesn’t work, you may have to open the phone up to examine further.
Before resetting to factory settings as I have found told elsewhere, go through your other apps. I had Norton Clean marked to block notifications which was blocking the ring tones and had deleted several custom tones. Of course it took me quite a while to figure that out but it was worth the time to not wipe the phone. Norton Clean was only doing what I had directed it to so it was not the app fault or the phone—–THIS TIME
I have similar problems with my phone vivo y69. No sounds and wen i received a phone call from any one we don’t understand each other because of the speaker of my phone is not working. Any suggestions from others how to solve this? I tried to look up my settings of my phone go to sound and volume of my speaker damnnnn i tried so many times but nothings happened..
i have a blu vivo 5 phone which had the same problem. solution.—- press the side button until you see option to reboot, power off , silent etc. in that screen increase the volume by pressing the volume button on the side panel. that fixed my problem.
