So i got this iphone 6s that my friend gave me, it works but the backlight is so dim, you can only see the screen when you put flashlight on it. I have it checked in a repair shop and it says that its an ic something problem and it needs to be soldered. And hes still not sure if itll work properly. Is it advisable that i get a new motherboard instead? Since the phone is also locked due to attempts. Or any tips to what should i do
If we can assume the screen has already been replaced with a known good one and the backlight issue persisted with the new screen too then the iPhone needs a backlight circuit repair. You’ll have to find someone into microsoldering to do the repair. It is not the simplest one can do but usually it can be successfully repaired by an experienced technician. Screen lock is not a problem as phone can be restored to factory defaults, but it’s important to make sure it is also free from previous owner Apple ID first.
