i just recently replaced my phone screen and i checked if everything worked before closing the phone and everything works well. however i noticed it wont charge it says its connected and displays a charging symbol but it wont go past 8%. also it keeps restarting usually when it supposed to go to sleep mode and i checked the battery settings and it says it needs service but the battery was fine before the repair. i have tried reconnecting my battery but still the same issue. the lower display bracket one of the screws is stuck inside but it still fits but could that be the issue?
Not sure which screw you are talking about but if the battery connector is seated properly it shouldn’t matter. You could remove the shield and put pressure on the battery connector with your finger and see if acts the same. However if it is showing it needs service and is not charging and restarting it will most likely need a replacement battery installed.
I would try a new battery first they are less than 10 dollars for a quality one and go from there.
