My phone is making a clicking sound about every 30 seconds (extremely annoying!). Took the back off and it sounds like the noise is coming from the upper left-hand corner, just below the camera (or around that area). I have looked at forums online to try and find a fix but everyone else says that when they apply pressure to the phone it makes the sound. My phone CONTINUES clicking at a regular interval. Also, my battery has been draining at almost 10 times the speed! I have to charge it 2-3 times a day. What I need to know is what part I need to replace or how to maintenance it? or if anyone knows how to troubleshoot this issue

OK, so I have figured out the problem (I am responding to my own question so that it is archived and other people with a similar problem can possibly benefit). I tore down my phone from top to bottom and put it back together again. The “nature” of the noise changed slightly; instead of clicking at intervals there was a prolonged buzz with very short breaks in between. As I described in my question, the noise was coming from around the camera area. Therefore, I removed the camera (with the phone still on) and noticed the sound went away. Theory: I believe that the connection between the camera’s flex cable and the logic board wasn’t making 100% contact. This was either making the power between the two have to jump across the 2 connections OR there was a build up of energy that was being released based on the connection. Hints, the “clicking” noise or whatever other adjective you want to use to describe it. I can see this problem being an issue with any connection between the logic board. Luckily the camera isn’t a vital part of the functionality of the phone and I was able to remove it to troubleshoot the problem. Goodluck to anyone else out there with a similar issue =]

Dood, Not a chance, google what it takes to arc even 1 millimeter in free air.

Mines not really a question but the same problem. My camera doesn’t want to focus either. How do I fix that? Or do I just need to take my phone to apple??

I have an iPhone 6 and it only clicks when I talk to someone on a landline phone.

When using maps, I get the ticking noise after she speaks only when my charger is plugged in. If I unplug the charger the ticking goes away until she speaks again. So I unplug the charger after she is done and it stops till she speaks again. Not too bad on long trips, can get annoying on trips with many short turns. It happens with the regular car charger and also the “mophie” charger. I’ll work with it … hate to give up my S4. Barb

Sounds like you have a Metronome app on your desktop. Click on the metronome icon and then click the square button at the center of the dial. Check your settings list or app store to see if you can delete the metronome.
