Hi. My lightning port was working not well, i have to press or maybe bend the cable a little so it might work. Then we decided to replace it today. I ordered the charging port and succesfully changed. Screen, mic, speaker, even headphone jack working as it should be. But my phone is not charging. The battery ran out so the device shut down, when i put my charger, phone boots up, waits 1-2 secs, then shut down again due to dead battery. I have found some information about Tristar chip but i can’t replace/fix it myself, is the only way to get my phone working sending it to a service? Can they fix it or is my phone dead at all?
First of all, you don’t really know for certain if your replacement charge port is fully functional or not. It is possible that it is defective, which is not uncommon for “small parts”. So I would try to reconnect the original charge port because it did work somewhat before. You don’t need to remove the old one, just disconnect it and plug the original back in (always disconnect the battery first!). If that works then try the replacement again to see if the problem persists. As for charging problems in general, I always start with known-good cables and charger first, battery second, charge port third and if all of those don’t solve the problem, then consider a logic board failure.
I’ve replaced my charging port on my iPhone 6. How long after will the apple logo come on?
