Many organisations with security concerns are sourcing modified wifi-only iPads which can be utilised in high security environments. This requires removing the cameras and microphone. What would be involved in this mod on both mini 4 and ipad 6 models? How long would it take and what tools would be required?
On the iPad mini 4, just open it up :>). Everything you want to remove is at the top end of the device, the two cameras and the two microphones (just look for the pin holes in the top right corner to locate them). The same would apply to the iPad 6 although the internals are slightly different. Check out the various guides here.
