My daughter had her 6s sitting on her leg and the screen showed green/pink with some lines and partial display. Her sister tried a reboot, the phone powered back to a black screen. The phone wasn’t dropped and has had no exposure to water. When plugging in the phone, iTunes recognizes the device, but nothing appears on the phone screen. I’ve tried holding power and Home buttons, I’ve tried the power button for 3 seconds, then the home button, nothing brought the screen back. I’ve replaced several LCd/Digitizers in the past on iPod Touch 4th gen and iPhone 4s. The 6s looked a LOT easier, so I ordered a new complete screen/digitizer with earpiece and camera already assembled. I was very meticulous in keeping the different screws organized so I wouldn’t have a “long screw” problem. I was certain to disconnect the battery and ensure there’d be no way for it to accidentally make contact while replacing the screen. I used a small can and a rubber band to hold the screen upright (90º to phone body) while disconnecting the cables very gently. I put everything back in place, powered on the phone and still black screen. I shone a flashlight on the screen to see if maybe the backlight had failed, but I saw no Apple Logo or anything else. I swapped the old screen back onto the phone and still the black screen. Any suggestions as to what may be the cause?

You’ve certainly done your research…kudos! If iTunes recognizes the phone yet you have no image, even after trying a replacement screen and the original one, then it’s usually either the backlight (which you have ruled out) or the LCD driver. The clue here is the green/pink display prior to failing completely. The only real variable here is whether or not the replacement screen works. It’s always possible that it is defective. Yet, realistically, based on your troubleshooting, the issue is on the logic board. This would require a micro-soldering repair.
