my Compaq model PX356UA has a pink color on the monitor. I can play a game but can’t see much to do anything else. Best Buy said HP wasn’t selling what I need to fix it. Any ideas?it is xp Thanks Jeano
jean, pink discoloration is usually caused by a bad LCD. Check to make sure that all your cables are properly connected. Check the LVDS connector as well as your inverter. You may have to replace either the inverter or the LCD. I’d start with the inverter since it is less expensive. As for what Best Buy says, since I do not know what part they are referring too, we can not confirm or deny that HP is not selling the part.
