I have the Pioneer SC-LX59 AVR Receiver but recently the front display is very dark and I cannot read what it says very clearly, I realise that there is a dimming button on the remote which I thought I had pressed to make it like this but if i press that it only gets worse, I would surely value anyones oppinnion on how to resolve this issue please help.
Hi, Appears as though there is a problem with the power for the fluorescent backlighting in the display or there is a problem with the display itself. Here’s an image taken from the service manual that shows the No FL Display troubleshooting flowchart that may be of some help. Be patient when trying to download the service manual as it takes a little while to go from processing to Download, once you have passed the security check and clicked on Go to Download below the Document preview box
(click on image to enlarge for better viewing) If it is the display assembly then on p.82 there are part numbers for the 2 displays for your model PRIM DISPLAY ASSY (SC-LX59) part #AWM8411 DISPLAY ASSY part #AWX2023 I don’t know which one would be the problem but searching online using the part numbers shows no results for the first listed display assembly and this is all that there was for the second, so hopefully it is a display power problem and not a primary display assembly problem or even the other display assembly. Hopefully this is of some help.
