while removing the connector of the cable of the right fan, I broke the socket off the logic board. it is intact and in good shape. Is there a way to resolder it to the logic board or is there any glue or other way to refix this socket.? I tried to put a piece of foam on the top, hoping the back cover would keep it in place, but the right fan has 0 rpm. thanks for the help. serge
Serge - I was hoping you have enough of the pad left that you might have been able to solder on a few leads. Sadly, I don’t see enough left on a few of the pads to offer enough surface to solder on to. Maybe someone with a microscope can carefully shave back the over cover to expose some more area or locate another area to connect to. This is a very advanced project to recover this logic board. You might be able to locate a used board to swap out yours as a cheaper solution.
