Chosen Solution

I have a huge issue with my PlayStation 4 I need some technical guidance. So for about a year my launch PS4 had been sounding like a jet so today I decided to open it up gave it a much needed clean and changed the thermal paste. Now trying to play it or at least go on YouTube, the fan goes really loud and the system powers off blinks red and says the system it too hot but it’s cold… Not sure if I have to leave it for longer but I’ve changed thermal paste in the past and my systems have came straight back on. Any ideas? Any help is appreciated.

Make sure the heatsink screws and fan connectors are secure.

The most likely cause of this is that the APU is not making a good connection to the heat sink. This is usually caused by thermal pads that are out of place or doubled up. I’ve seen a lot of people put the APU clamp on upside down and quite a few that don’t tighten the APU clamp screws. Since the fan goes really loud you know it’s working properly. If you check all of those things you will probably find the problem. Hope that helps.
