The playstation will not turn on at all after a power surge. Any suggestions on what it would be?
My first best guess is that the diodes in the bridge rectifier died in the power supply. Replace your power supply and give it a try. Instructions for the replacement are here: PlayStation 3 Power Supply Replacement I can’t guarantee you the spike didn’t go past there before the diodes died. But diodes die when fed to much current.
