Chosen Solution
I can no longer play/burn any kind of cd or dvd in my imac. I cant even restore my computer now. I insert the cd/dvd it spins and pushes it back out after a few seconds. I also have an issue when i open Finder under Places i have 2 untitled yellow disk there. This normally indicates a blank disk ready to be burned but there is no disk inside at all. Im not sure if this is a cd drive issue or a software issue. I need this Fixed. Please help me
I may have a way for you to delete it. Sounds like software not hardware problem. I believe a preference .plist has become corrupted; The alias is stored inside com.apple.sidebar.plist located at /Users/username/Library/Preferences/ so go there and delete the following: com.apple.finder.plist com.apple.sidebarlists.plist Restart or log out of your session ( > LogOut Username) then log back in then check a finder window.. You may have to reset your preferences in Finder after trashing the .plists. If this Answer is helpful please remember to return and mark it Accepted.
