Hi I plugged a US revlon hair drying brush into a european outlet using (what i thought ) was the proper converter ? It still smoked after a few seconds and I unplugged it … Can it be fixed ?

Unless the damage is minor, it’s highly unlikely to be unless the fault is a fuse which took all of the damage and it’s easily replaced. Most of these are cheaply built and tend to have damage that go across the entire electrical circuit. You won’t lose anything by checking it over, but take it as a hard lesson to be more careful. The fuse may have blown protecting the rest of it, but I would go in expecting the worst.

@hilary45 you plugged your 120V (110) hair drying brush into a power converter that transforms 240V to 120 (110)? Ot is it just an adapter for the different outlets? If you used a transformer then it should not have happened. If it got hit with the 220V it is most likely that you have a few resistors etc. on the power board that are smoked. We’d have to see what it all looks like. Give us the complete model number of your brush.

My revlon hair dryer has stopped working… What’s with this 110v to 220v Kindly help me what can be done ???
