I bought the BMF600XL from the US and I live in Kuwait. And in Kuwait the voltage of the power outlets is 240V and the appliance indicates it is supposed to be used with 120V. Not realising this soon enough, I plugged it in the wall and POOF! smoke came out and the appliance stopped working. I’m just wondering now, is it fixable? and if so, is it a simple job i could do myself? (or if its even worth it. it cost me $200 for the thing with the shipping) heres a link to the appliance on breville’s website: http://www.brevilleusa.com/milk-cafe.htm… This site has all the replacement parts for the appliance. if anyone knows how it can be fixed it would be great if you could indicate which parts i’d need: http://www.ereplacementparts.com/brevill… Thanks in advance and i apologise if i got the technical stuff wrong, i hope it makes enough sense. ***Edit: so i opened the machine up and it seems like the board is ok. If im not mistaken its the motor that burned out. i hope this is useful to you guys. Jubelot
@jubelot the best thing you can do at this time is to disasemble your coffee maker to check for the damage. I would expect to see a few capacitors and possibly a fuse that are damaged. Could be an easy repair. worst case scenario would be that you need to replace the complety main PCB assembly. Still not a bad price at `$50USD. It will all depend on which part got damaged. That can only be determined ones you have it apart. Post some images of what you find with your question. For that use this guide so we can see what you see.
