I just completed a replacement of the dock connector on my iPhone 5. I performed the same repair on two phones. One has an issue, now where the speaker makes a popping sound. It happens when tapping buttons on the screen and sometimes on its own. It almost seems like a grounding issue. Can you provide any advice on what to look for?
Fixed! I had the ground cable around the headphone jack on incorrectly. The metal connector was on top of the assembly instead of under.
