Hi i wonderd if it is possible to change the backlight to a macbook core 2 duo, do i have to change the entire LCD panel
Yes it’s possible to replace the backlight unit if the lamp is blown. A good advice is to buy a cheap cracked LCD panel on ebay (make sure with the seller that the lamp is still working) and swap the two backlights. Not very difficult to do but you have to be meticulous when installing the backlight assy cause you could end up with a non even lightning on the screen.
I am going to try and help Mayer Check with a flashlight to see if you see a picture If you do, the inverter is likely bad Also, raise the brightness and see what that does, to do this, press F1 for darker and F2 for brighter
