Hi, I recently bought a secondhand MacBook Pro that needed a bit of repair. I opened it and discovered quite a bit of sticky solvent all over the battery. Now, I’m not quite sure what that was. I’m thinking it’s either a leaking battery or someone spilled it quite a bit of Coke onto the MacBook. I’m thinking it looks a bit more like soda, when I cleaned it off using a slight amount of water, it looked like Coca-Cola in color, but Obviously I’m wondering, is it safe to use this MacBook. There is a certain spot that looks like it could’ve penetrated deeper down. I will try and attach a picture. So it’s not really that clear to see on the photograph. Time to fully pull the battery & logic board out to inspect for more spillage also look for corrosion damage MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Early 2011 Logic Board Replacement Use distilled water and 85% or better Isopropyl alcohol using cotton swabs or small cotton pads on larger areas.
