Hello, Apple sells two versions of the 2019 27” 5K iMac. One with classic foot and the other with VESA mount. I want to know if it’s possible to buy the VESA mount alone to replace the standard foot. I found the answer for several models, but not this one particularly.
While you can exchange the internal hinge assembly for the VESA mount version its a god awful job as you need to take the whole system apart to get to it!
The better and cheaper approach is to find one of the 3rd party clamp on VESA mounts these connect to the hole in the foot VIVO Adapter VESA Mount Kit If you are really set on wanting to remove the foot in its entirety, I know of a few folks who bought another foot cutting it down and TIG welding a machined VESA mount to it. I’ve also seen a removable foot design made so the foot could be taken off for shipping!
If you can get the Apple VESA mount parts, you can easily replace it. I have seen someone saying they have been replaced it on his 2015 iMac. You can find more detail in this page. iMac Intel 27" EMC 2639 Stand Replacement You will need the proper parts that fit 2019 though.
