I completely removed my logic board and heat sink with gpu from my 2009 3.06 Core Duo 2 iMac 27” And was curious if I purchased the exact same product with heat sink, gpu attached out of a 2009 2.8 Core i7 iMac 27”, would I be able to put it into the case of my iMac and completely replace the Core Duo 2 that was in there? Or would I have an issue with some plugs or connections that are part of the iMac case? Just asking that way I know if I can just buy the part and get my computer up and running again or just buy a whole new machine and forget about replacing my core duo 2 iMac logic board. Thanks in advance !
You don’t need to swap out your logic board, you only need to swap out the CPU chip! This is a transitional system the logic board was designed to support both the Core 2 Duo And the very first i5 2.66 GHz (I5-750) or Core i7 2.8 GHz (I7-860) chips! Core 2 Duo - EMC 2309Core I - EMC 2374
