I was replacing the lightning port on my iPhone in order to fix a microphone that wasn’t working. Unfortunately, I accidentally smashed a few pins on the connector where the cable for the lightning port/microphone/headjack etc. plugs into the logic board. I’m wondering if this can be fixed as the rest of the phone is fine. If it can’t be fixed, does anyone know how to charge an iPhone battery outside of the phone? I have a lot of pictures I’d like to get off of the device, but the battery is dead and so is the charging port… :( Also if it can’t be fixed, any ideas on what I should do with the phone to get the most money out of it that I can? Thanks!
Yes, It can be fixed. You will need to take it to a Phone repair shop that does Micro Soldering to solder on a new FPC connector. If you can’t find a local shop, you can always use the mail in service many of the techs here on Ifixit provide :)
