Hi there, So, I had a horribly cracked screen and very poor battery life and I decided to replace both of those parts. It went well and worked excellent for some weeks, but now I find that I’m having an issue when the power button/home button is pushed, the screen may just show a back-lit black display. After a few pushes, it does display the lock screen but otherwise, sometimes I’ll receive calls/texts and be unable to read/answer them. I’ve since reopened the phone to re-seat connections and double-check that nothing was loose. That seemed to alleviate the problem for a day or two but the problem re-emerged. I’ve been reading and I fear that I may have placed screws in the wrong locations and caused “long screw damage”. Are these issues symptomatic of LSD?
I think your symptoms are more related to a defective or low quality replacement screen. If you still have the original, cracked screen, you could try to re-install it just to see if the symptoms go away. In that case, contact your supplier/vendor and get a replacement screen or refund. As for the LSD…yes it’s possible. When you remove the screen , take a close look inside the screw standoffs. They should be black other than some blue thread locker and sometimes some metal shavings.
