I have a MacBook Pro laptop model A1278. It was on and running perfectly when I noticed the battery was on red. I got the power cord and plugged it in. After 20 minutes without any warning it shut off. I’ve tried the key sequence and nothing. I did notice the led light on the power cord is flickering a very faint green. Anyone got knowledge of what’s going on?
have you replaced the charger recently, and where did you buy it from? also, what capacity is left in the battery currently when you press the battery indicator on the left of the mac? I’d suggest looking into the charger as the cause of the fault, as it may not be a genuine apple one. Its typical for dodgy replacement chargers to flicker and not function properly, they even pose fire risks, so keep an eye on it if you dont know it to be genuine apple. I’d suspect, that if the battery was about to run out of charge, and the charger is faulty, the charger just wasn’t able to charge the battery at all, so it just powered off. If you have no LEDs on the left side of the machine (the battery indicator) and the LED is flickering, then look to test the mac with a different charger before assuming the worst. I hope this helps.
