I replaced the battery in my iPhone 5c. Everything seemed to work fine afterwards, until I noticed that the power, volume control and vibrate toggle switch are inoperative now. I rechecked everything I touched inside the phone and everything appears normal and I am using the extra accessibility button to get by, but would like the phone to work properly. Is there a common component with these three buttons that I could have damaged while prying the battery out?
Yes, there is a flex cable that is right near the top of battery that cant get pinched or cut. This flex cable is one big piece that has the power, volume and silent toggle on it. If this is cut, then youll have to replace it. This would require you to remove the motherboard. iFixit has a great guide though. It’s not that hard. It’s just a bit tedious.
