My dads Ux31a internal power connector broke when someone tripped over the wire such that the internal pin snapped. Any way to fix? Thanks
Hi @davidm71 , Here’s a link to a video that shows how to remove the motherboard in the laptop to gain access to the DC-In jack. You will need soldering expertise and tools to remove/replace the part. Replacement parts are available online. Just search for Asus UX31A DC-In jack part to get results for suppliers.
Please avoid the video above… If you’re looking to change the DC port, I followed this one instead… You don’t necessarily need to have a heat gun, but it sure helps… Leave the heat sink and fan on there (as per this video) else you’ll need to reapply thermal paste….
