Exv98 Uniden cordless phone not charging well-green light on charging base flickers when handset on base. New battery has been added to phone. Phone was charged uninterrupted for twenty hours. When dialing out, there are varying time lapses/beeping until you get a dial-tone in phone. Possibly a bad charging cord?

Hi, It could be the base station. Have you checked that the charging contacts in the base are clean and bright. Here is a link to show you how to clean them. http://www.manualslib.com/manual/334444/… Also wondering if the Automatic Digital Code Security feature of the phone is the reason for the blinking light. Reading the manual not sure if it should stay on or go off. Here is a link. http://www.manualslib.com/manual/334444/… Poor reception may be improved by changing the channel being used between the phone and the base station. Hi @mussakowski , According to the user guide the adapter is a 120VAC to 9VDC adapter. It doesn’t specify the current output or the size of the DC plug however. If you still have the old adapter (and cord with plug) the specifications should be printed on it giving model number, input volts AC, output volts DC and the current (I) in mA or A (milliAmps or Amps). There is this one that I found that may be suitable IF the specifications printed on it match yours exactly (hover mouse over image in link to magnify the image to view the specs). If it is the correct one search online for AD-314 to find other suppliers that may suit you better. If it is not the correct one search online using the model number printed on your adapter only in the search box of your browser to find results for suppliers. Alternatively, take your adapter (and cord) to an electronics parts store they should be able to supply an adapter with the correct specifications and DC plug size. Update (02/10/2019) Hi @mussakowski , The user manual stipulates that it is a 120VAC/9VDC adapter so that is a start. 240VAC/9VDC would also work if you have 240VAC house power supply. The important thing is that it is 9VDC output. Unfortunately DC plug sizes can vary and sometimes are very close in size, e.g. there are 2.1mm diameter plugs and 2.5mm diameter plugs so as you can see it is very difficult to judge by eye whether it is the correct size or not, you would have to plug it into the base (or try to) to see if it is a snug fit and not loose or won’t go in. In the end it may be easier to go to an electronics parts store (or anywhere the supplies adapters) with the charging base and try some compatible 9VDC adapters with different DC plug sizes to see which one fits. Also the current output doesn’t have to be high, 350-500mA is enough to maintain the batteries once they have been fully charged as it will be charging them all the time except when you are using the phone..
