My wife dropped her Chromebook while it was charging. It landed on the power cord connection portion. The tip of the cord bent pretty badly. I was able to bend it back into shape and was able to use it for a while. But yesterday some pieces broke off in the power input of the Chromebook. I’ve had quite a few experiences replacing laptop parts. So I am not completely a novice. My question is how would I go about replacing the power input? Is it one pieces or is it part of the motherboard? Any help would be apreciated?
Hi, Here is a link to the Ifixit guide on how to replace the motherboard in an Asus Chromebook C201. This is handy as by using this you should be able to gain access to the DC-in socket in the Chromebook. Asus Chromebook C201 Motherboard Replacement Unfortunately the only replacement part that I can find is for an Asus Chromebook C200MA here which is identical to the DC-in socket for an Asus Chromebook C300 here which is the same as a DC-in socket for an ‘‘Acer Chromebook C201 ‘‘here so I suspect that all Chromebook DC-in sockets are the same. You may wish to inquire with the seller whether this is the case or not.
