Hi, I am having some issues with the battery and charging on my MacBook Pro. Recently I noticed a spark from the MagSafe port when I connected the charger. Not long after the battery low warning started flashing repeatedly in a way it has never done before. It was as if the charger was being connected and disconnected repeatedly. I thought the battery was at fault so purchased a OEM replacement but this has not fixed my issue. My MacBook works perfectly normally except from the fact I can no longer charge the battery. The battery status says Battery Not Charging and Power Source: Power Adapter but the power adapter is not connected and it has no affect when it is. When I do connect I get a very dim green light. I have tried the SMC reset and NVRAM/PRAM reset but again it has not helped. I am starting to think that perhaps the charging port was damaged and a replacement would solve my issues. Any help would be appreciated. thanks
Is an original charger being used or is it an aftermarket one? Also try cleaning the charging port because there is probably some lint / metal foreign pieces stuck to the magnetic part of the MagSafe charger.
