Ok so my friends iPhone I’m fixing was not working. I established that his battery and port charger were toast so I ordered both brand new! I replaced the old with the new and what do ya know the phone was working and all! I put it back together and used it for a second then out it down cause there was snow outside and someone had to shovel it. I remember the phone being on 12% but I didn’t get a chance to put it on the charger but when I came back from shoveling the phone was off and would no longer turn back on. I plugged the charger in and hit the power button but still nothing. The phone had no water damage at all i don’t know what else to do please help!!!
It could be that you never fixed the issue to start with, which could be a defective U2 IC (google it, or search for iPhone 5 U2 charging problem on this werbsite). It could be that you damaged something during the repair, It could be that a new issue came up (such as a defective U2 IC). Let’s start with the basics: did you try a different, known good charging cable and charger? And after leaving the phone to charge for 20 minutes, did you try rebooting (by pressing and holding power button + home button for ~12 seconds then restarting)? If yes, and still not result, then let’s rewind: why did you choose to replace the battery and charging port to begin with? Why/when/how did the issue start? And now, when you try to charge the phone, does A/ the phone say it is charging (you see the battery only with the red level)? or B/ not charging (you see the battery + the lightning cable)? Or C/ you see nothing? Finally, since the repair, is this the first time that you let the phone’s battery drain completely? If you answer all the above, we can help you zero in on the issue and/or better troubleshoot the problem.
sounds like a bad charger port. if it docent turn on at all check the power flex to make sure it is still intact. they will not turn on with a broken power flex. I have 5 years in the mobile phone repair business.
