I put new batteries in but screen only blinks on for a brief moment Update (07/30/2017) will changing LCD solve problem
vicky mcdearmid this could be related to a stuck lens. Try the tricks mentioned on here and see if those will work for you. If not then you will have to dig down further and disassemble your camera and possibly replace the lens assembly.
