For the last 10 days my macbook turns itself off after about 20 - 30 minutes of usage. Then it takes about a couple of days before it will power up again. When it does start up it turns off when it sounds like a disc is being ejected. What could be wrong with my macbook, I can’t afford another one as I live on a fixed income with SSD as my source of income I really need to fix this issue.

When the MacBook shuts off, do you still have a light on the AC adapter connector? Is it solid, or dimmer than usual? I would remove the RAM, and try booting up with only one RAM module, and see if that makes a difference. If it doesn’t, try with the RAM in the other slot and the first one empty. Sometimes A1181 RAM slots go bad and cause the behavior you’re experiencing, in which case the machine will generally work fine if you keep the offending slot empty. Beyond that, if the RAM thing doesn’t help, I wonder if your machine may have experienced liquid damage, since liquid damaged boards sometimes behave as you describe. It certainly sounds like a hardware issue. I’d take off the topcase and see if there is any visible corrosion that you can clean off with q-tips and rubbing alcohol.

Try removing the battery and see if it will start up.

Do a SMC reset (SMC = System Management Controler). Take out the battery and remove the power chord. Press the powerswitch for at least 10 seconds. Wait a couple minutes and put everything back together. Then you could also try a PRAM reset, athough in this case it’s doubtful to do any good. Press and hold down the alt, cmd, r and p keys and power the machine on. Keep holding the keys til you hear the second chime. Please report if that helped anything - if not we can go from there.

Okay replaced the upper case on my macbook still have the same issues. It will only powerup when it feels like it. I know its not the logic board, had it tested. Does anyone have an idea what it could be. I am in need of answers. Please help.
