Recently got asked to repair and iPhone 7 with a broken screen. Something unusual is happening. Note - I have not taken the phone apart yet and it could just be the home button out of place To activate the home button, you have to press on the frame below the home button for some reason. Also the vibration is sensitive and does not feel normal. Just wondering before I take apart the phone if anyone knows what might be causing this. Touch ID works perfectly fine, but the home button doesn’t click in and you have to press in on the bottom part of the frame between the charging port and home button. If anyone has any idea what could be causing this, please let me know.

Hi, on the iPhone 7 the Homebutton dosent click anymore. If you “click” it the vibration motor simulates a response. I would bet the iPhone 7 regognises the activation of the Homebutton via the forcetouch feature. So, if the screen is broken it might be possible that this triggers the error. If the vibration dosent feel normal it might be possible that one of the screws of the vibration motor came loose, that happens sometimes, just open it up and screw it back in.
