I’m disconnecting my logic board. I can’t get the dc power cable to disconnect. I can push in the sides but can’t get it to unplug. It hurts my fingers too much. Asked hubby, he can’t get it to unplug either. Is there a tool I can use? Or would I be able to use a towel or potholder to help?

Nothing really to grab other than the connector shell. Pulling on the wires can damage the cable and lifting upward can damage the logic board connector. The trick is to hold the clips away from the mated catch and then pull straight out. Since you have a second person you could have one person holding the clasps the the other either pulling the shell or use a pair of plastic pry bars iFixit Opening Tool to wedge in the slot where the connectors break apart. Once you get them in (one on each corner) carefully pry them to the sides in a circular motion Think how a dial gage needle (speedometer) moves on the flat plane, thus the gap slowly grows to the point you can pull the connector free.
