Good evening, I’ve been changing the battery on my iPhone XS and unfortunately I’ve had an error. It’s not my first iPhone I’ve repaired and I was stopped by this problem. The thing is that when I want to charge the phone, I have to first turn it off, put it in the charger and turn it on, otherwise the phone won’t start charging. Do you know where the fault could be? Thank you very much for your advice.

If you’re still getting issues with it not charging, I’d say you may have an issue with TriStar/charging IC. Need someone who can do this type of microsoldering work. Cant see why, but you’ve tried another plug/lead. I’d imagine if it was that, it wouldn’t charge at all, but I’ve seen some bizzare things happen before.

Hi Simon it sounds like a charging port fault so recommend changing it and see if that is any better if not replace battery

Hey Simon! This could be a charging port problem, or an issue with a lot of these XS iPhones So, First try to charge it with a different charger and cable. if the problem remains, Try out wireless charging… So if Wireless charging works without you turning your iPhone on, its probably your chaging port…
