I just replaced the screen on my iPhone 7 Plus. After the screen replacement I noticed that the proximity sensor was getting extremely hot when the phone was in use. Is this out of the ordinary? If so, what is the possible cause of this issue?
When i used to repair iPhones professionally overheating proximity sensors where pretty much always the result of a damaged flex cable or a component coming loose from the flex cable. You will have to replace it and it should solve your problem.
Someone has made a post similar to this, they were having issues with it after screen replacement. After screen replacement, proximity sensor is not functioning..
