Hello together!
I have a PS3 SuperSlim 12GB (CECH-4004) and after few minutes in a game in a pretty cool room the Fan of my Console starts to tun on max like the console will be overheating. The Console is standing completly free on a desk, so hot air cant be the reason for it.
I have opened the Console, was like complete free of dust and i have replaced the dry Thermal Paste with a good one. I work a lot with computers and know how many Thermal Paste i need to use.
But the Problem not fixed and still the same, after few minutes the Fan starts to be a hair dryer.
Maybe the themperature sensor doesnt work well anymore?
Does someone know how to fix this issue?
Sounds like the same in this YT Video -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S43P5FcM…
Hi! While what you’re saying about the sensor could be a reason for the fan to spin up, I wouldn’t start replacing anything until other possibilities are eliminated. If the games you are playing are on a disk, then you might hear the drive spinning the disk, I know for sure my own PS3 SS is also making a lot of noise while in games… And even if the fan spins up while in games that are not on a disk, that’s normal, it’s just keeping the system cool; if it turns off while you’re in a game, now that’s a reason to worry. Another way to test this is by letting the system on, in the XMB menu. The fan should not spin at full rev in this case and if it does, it could indicate a deeper problem.
