Hi I got my hands on a PS4 CUH-1216B I tried to hook it up with various cable but it won’t turn on. No beep or light. After some investigation I saw that it has to be th Power Supply that is dead. I bought one on amazon and I recieved Dental Floss. I recovered my money but anyway… I tested the fuse thats right next to the power connector and it is good it my multimeter beeps. I also tested the metal connectors that connect the PSU to the mother board )I bridged the 1st and 4th pins on the cable connector. And it does not put out any power near 5V so something on the middle ground is failing. So if anyone can help. I would love to fix this ps4 to gift it to my Fiancee.
This is probably not what you want to hear and it’s not what I want to say given that I’m a repair professional but unfortunately, in most cases, the power supply is just too hard to fix. Since there are no schematics available and there are so many circuits and components on these power supplies it’s just not practical to fix them. This has just been my experience…maybe there’s someone out there who knows how to fix them. In my opinion it’s better to just buy a replacement.
@germandennis nope I bought the new psu and it didn’t work, I teared the ps4 down, and found a chip that literally exploded. I ended up selling it for parts. I still have the PSU. If anyone wants it I am willing to sell it.
