Chosen Solution

The issue is:

  • I turn on the PS4
  • It beeps
  • The blue light turns on for a second or two
  • It turns off completely
  • The PS4 is now completely irresponsible
  • I need to plug out the power and then plug it back in

I unpluged I wiped the power socket with alcohol wipe and fixed my problem much quicker than all that mess around

Unplug everything from the PS4 apart from the Power cord then start it up, worked for me :)

im having the same issue except on a ps4 pro. ive only ever tore down a normal first gen ps4. anyone know how to do this for ps4 pro?

Try taking the ps4 and unplug power cord. … to make it work was remove the power cord and switch it on, it will beep with a light and then die (without the cord) then when u start it up hold down the boot button till it beeps twice and it will rebuild the database

I have similar problem and I tried replacing power supply and using the washer trick. Neither worked. Sony will fix out of warranty for $99+taxes or I can go to the local repair shop which they quoted $60+ with diag. I might just send it to Sony.

It turned off but with the blue light still on

Try cleaning all the dust from the sides I took an air compressor to it and it started working just fine.

lol this has been happening for a year now for me and idk how to solve it. i had a fan and it was fine until today when it just turned off. any tips or solutions?

I just tore my down cleaned all the dust out and replaced thermal paste worked fine for 2 days then tonight this problem started.

Fixed just open it up and get all the dust out of it

Well any of this doesn’t work for me. Just leave it rest for some days and than try it,hopefully it turns on.This problem is very very bad.It sucks,you take your ps4 to another house and the ^!&$@%%$%^ doesn’t turn on.Honestly sony &&^&@@ up with this console,ps3 was wayyy better.Its very very weak,it does get a lot of dust inside because there are some big ass holes on the side.I miss playing in my ps4,i am watching gameplay videos on youtube because i can’t play any game and i have the &&^&^$^ games wich i spend money on buying.I don’t wanna buy a ps4 console anymore.Maybe i’ll try Xbox,It doesn’t have “god of war” or some other great games but whatever &&^& it,at least it doesn’t give me this $@$* experience sony gave to me.

guys my ps4pro was doing the same thing, blue light lit for a moment and then nothing happened. i unplugged all the cables from it and left it for two three hours and then tried ro plug it in with only power cable attached and it works. hope it helps you too..cheers

did everything that was mentioned but take it apart and clean it. this happened when i was playing fallout it just shut off for no reason and wont turn on. last time this happened i had to take it to tech fix they charged me $170 so no way in !&&* im doing that again

Did all of that and the problem still the same..even replaced the thermal paste nas add washers to the APU metal plate..its a PS4 Slim
