Chosen Solution
Recently, I bought a PlayStation Dualshock controller, just for iPhone gaming. I do not have the actual console. After a few days of gaming, the controller died. I was not provided with the sony controller charger in the box. I plugged it into a standard micro- B USB charger and connected it to a wall outlet. However, there is no light showing it is charging. Is it normal, for it not to show the charge light? or does the charge light only show when it is connected to the actual console? Thank you.
There is already a post on this topic. Why won’t my controller charge through a wall outlet?
I’m troubleshooting charging a ps4 controller from a wall outlet right now. Apparently you need a power brick (thing that goes from wall to USB) that’s rated for 5 V output and 700-800 mA (0.7-0.8 A). All the ones I have are grater than 1 A output and the controller won’t charge. When I plug it into my PlayStation it starts charging and lights up orange. Hopefully that helps and hopefully you have or are able to find a power brick with a low output current. Good luck!
